Dr. Remi Bamisile

Doctorate degree in Psychology with specialization in Mediation and Conflict Resolution. Author of Leadership and Mediation: A Case Study of Divorce Mediation published in 2022. Experienced, dedicated, and knowledgeable healthcare leader with 12+ years of long-term care experience as both a New York State Surveyor/Complaints Investigator and Assistant Director of Nursing in two skilled nursing facilities. Investigated complaints, mediated disputes and resolved disputes between family members, patients and healthcare providers in the State of New York for more than ten years. In-depth knowledge of the state and federal regulations governing the healthcare industries due to many years of experience as a New York State DOH Surveyor/Complaints Investigator. Experienced comprehensive reviewer of medical records. Experienced Legal Nurse Consultant.

Ordained Pastor and now the District Superintendent of the Christ Gospel Apostolic Church– Staten Island, New York.

Graduated with a second-class upper division in Yoruba Language from the Department of Linguistics and Nigerian Languages, University of Ilorin in 1984. Received an award for being the best graduating student in the Department of Linguistics and Nigerian Languages University of Ilorin in 1984. The first student to graduate with a 2:1 in Yoruba Studies in the University of Ilorin.

Joined the academic staff of the Obafemi Awolowo University Ado-Ekiti (Now the Ekiti State University) in 1984 September.

Received an Award from the University of Ilorin for a Master of Arts Degree in Yoruba Language and completed the M.A in Yoruba Phonology in 1986. Enrolled for a PhD in Yoruba Linguistic-Stylistics in the Department of Linguistics and Nigerian Languages, University of Ilorin in 1987. Completed the PhD in Yoruba-Text Linguistics in November 1992.

I enrolled for the LLB degree in Laws of the University of Ibadan in1987. Completed the LLB in 1990. Proceeded to the Nigerian Law School in 1991 and became a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria after successfully obtaining the Barrister-At-Law from the Nigerian Law School in December 1992.

The first lecturer to design and teach Yoruba Language in Broadcasting in Nigeria. The course started in the Ekiti State University in 1986, and it is now being taught in several Universities in Nigeria.

Proceeded to the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1994 as a Visiting Scholar upon the invitation of the Department of Linguistics of UCLA.

Appointed a Fraud Investigator in the City of New York in 1997.

Appointed an Administrative Law Judge in the City of New York in 2001.

Appointed Adjunct Professor of African Folklore at the City University of New York, Brooklyn Campus in 2001.

Ordained a Pastor of the Christ Gospel Apostolic Church, Staten Island- New York in 2006. Now a District Superintendent (DS) of the Church in USA.

In 2011, received President Obama’s National Steering Committee Certificate of Recognition in acknowledgment of my extraordinary commitment and dedication to the Democratic Party.

Enrolled in the Nursing Profession in 2003. Obtained an Associate Degree in Nursing from the Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Center’s School of Nursing in Staten Island New York in 2006. Obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 2020 from Aspen University, Colorado USA. Obtained a Master of Science in Nursing Education Degree from The Aspen University in 2022.

I enrolled for a doctorate degree in Psychology at Ashford University, Arizona in 2014. Obtained a PsyD (Doctor of Psychology degree in Mediation and Conflict Resolution) in 2019.

Appointed a Complaints Investigator with the New York State Department of Health in 2009. Received the New York State Commissioner of Health’s award for excellent preventive healthcare performance during the Ebola breakout in 2015.

Appointed Assistant Director in 2016. Retired as the Assistant Director of Nursing from Sts. Joachim and Anne Nursing Rehabilitation Center in Brooklyn in 2018.

In 2020, I established the Occurrence Investigation Services Inc. (OCISI) I am currently the Executive President of the corporate body. OCISI is serving healthcare providers in the areas of risk management and conflict resolution.

Responsibilities:

Mediation: Investigated complaints and incidents. Mediated between disputants. Provided resolution of conflicts arising between family members, residents and the management of the facility.

Risk Management: Handled Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement; Built productive relationships with patients, staff and individuals at any level or background. Staff mentoring and development; Classified the learning needs of staff and arranged for opportunities to attain. Ensured facility compliance with State and Federal regulations.
