What Is YORUBOK?
Yorubok is the acronym for Yorubanization of Knowledge. It is a nonprofit initiative set up for the transfer of western knowledge to the Yoruba speech community via education in the Yoruba mother tongue. Yorubok is a research-based initiative to make teaching and learning of western education easier for this generation and generations of Yoruba sons and daughters to come. Yorubok demonstrates that there is no discipline that could not be taught and internalized in the Yoruba Language. This non-for-profit initiative seeks funding and or donations to develop a comprehensive series of Yoruba-language textbooks that translate, contextualize, and synthesize educational theory and practice for use in Nigerian and West African classrooms
