Students in Yoruba-speaking regions (Primary to University levels). – Yoruba-language teachers and teacher trainees. – Local universities and colleges of education. – Ministries of Education and Culture seeking multilingual instructional resources. – Publishers and literacy organizations within Nigeria and the Yoruba-speaking diaspora.

Innovation and Impact

First large-scale Yoruba-language textbook series explicitly designed for Western education concepts with rigorous academic standards. – Promotes bilingual/multilingual education, supporting cognitive and linguistic development. – Creates a replicable model for developing language-specific educational resources in Nigeria and West Africa. – Contributes to Quality Education through inclusive, equitable access to learning materials.

Partnership and Stakeholders

Nigerian Federal and State Ministries of Education; Yoruba cultural and linguistic organizations. – Universities of Lagos, Ibadan, Ilorin, Ife, Ekiti State University, Colleges of Education and Universities of Education and Yoruba-language departments. – National and regional publishers with experience in multilingual educational materials. – Teacher associations and professional bodies (e.g., Nigerian Union of Teachers, academic associations).

No donation is too small.  All donations shall be duly acknowledged.

Personnel: Subject-matter experts, linguists, editors, designers, illustrators, project managers. – Translation and localization: terminology development, glossaries, and style guides.

Production: Printing, binding, layout, and artwork.

Digital: Platform development, accessibility features, and offline-capable resources.

Capacity building: Workshops, training materials, and facilitator stipends.

Evaluation: Data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Contingency: 10–15% for unforeseen costs. A detailed line-item budget will be prepared upon confirmation of funding.

Sustainability and Knowledge Transfer

Local editorial and publishing capacity built into the project governance.  Open-access resources reduce long-term costs for students and schools. Training-of-trainers model to expand reach beyond initial cohorts.  Plans for updating editions based on classroom feedback and curriculum changes.

Language standardization Risks: Mitigated by a formal Yoruba linguistic committee and adherence to agreed transliteration conventions. – Printing and distribution delays: Mitigated via multiple vendor partnerships and local printing options. – Adoption resistance: Addressed through teacher involvement in development, professional development, and alignment with national curricula. – Funding fluctuations: Diversified funding streams and phased release of materials to maintain momentum

Metrics and Evaluation

Process Metrics: number of textbooks completed, pages translated, fidelity to content standards. – Output metrics: print copies, digital downloads, teacher guides produced, workshops conducted. – Outcome metrics: student assessment performance, teacher confidence and self-efficacy, classroom engagement indicators. – Equity metrics: access in rural and underserved areas, gender parity in resource usage.
